We have a day all about celebrating dads, and one all about our best friends. For more fun to look forward to this month, check out our list of important dates below. Final Exam Preparation Tips

It's May 1st, which means finals are right around the corner. We want to ensure you do your best even while distance learning so here are some tips to help you prepare!

1. Turn off all distractions- Whether this is your phone, a television, or finding a seperate room from your parents/roommates on a work call, it is important to seperate yourself and find a clean space to focus.
2. Don't get too comfortable- Avoid working from a place you may forget to work on: whether that be a comfy couch or your bed. Find a place that keeps you accountable. 
3. Utilize Zoom for study groups- Although you may not sit next to your classmates every week anymore, that does not mean they have to be out of sight out of mind. Promising to study together is a tool you can use to keep yourself working and motivated.
4. Set a goal amount of study time each day- Try not to study too little or too much in one day, you can burn out either way. If you dedicate specific time to work and include breaks, you will be much more productive.
5. Keep an updated calendar for each lecture or exam you have- While sleeping through a final is a nightmare we have all had before, this becomes much closer to reality as we take them from home. Make sure you are on top of your schdule for the week, knowing what time you will need to be up and present for your exam.

These past few weeks have been difficult for all of us. If you find yourself feeling unmotivated to take on the day in front of you, make to-do lists, take breaks, make sure you eat healthy snacks and have enought water throughout the day,  but just know that these days will pass. Things To Do While At Your Grand Duke Apartment During This Time

We’ve survived the first weeks of social distancing while working from home and taking classes online. Now is the time to relax, but when you’ve been cooped up for a week, and still can’t hit the malls or movie theaters, how can you spend your time?

• Virtually go to the Zoo! The Cincinnati Zoo is hosting live events every day at 3pm on their Facebook Live. Check out the page here
• Attend a live concert from your couch! Check out the artists and schedules here
• Binge watch a series. Have you been wondering what Baby Yoda is all about? Why not catch up on the Mandalorian now? You can also make this social with the Google Chrome Extension of the Netflix Party and watch with your friends remotely
• Learn a language. The Duolingo app is free and has more than 30 language courses. While you won’t become fluent with the app it is a great way to start!
• Attend the Metropolitan Opera during their nightly streams
• You can also visit museums on Google Arts and Culture. MoMA in New York City and Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam
• Watch a Broadway show or check out the Living Room Concert Series
• Read a book that you’ve been putting off. Audible is also offering some free audio books through their app
• Go for a hike or walk at a local park
• Facetime family members or friends! You don’t need to distance yourself fully with all of the technology at your finger tips
• Always wanted to learn to make the perfect scrambled egg? Now is the best time to start learning how to cook or bake
• Listen to a new podcasts! Get recommendations from your friends, and there are educational ones, and even ones focused around different hobbies
• Stream a movie early! Yes the movie theaters are closed but a lot of movies are being released early and on various streaming services. Check out the list here
